Time To Pay The Bills

December 17th, 2007

Greetings everyone.

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind and my travels keep on going. Next week I will start discussing the new project I will be working on until I get someone to step up and be the new illustrator for Primary Force. So anyone that would like the position, now would be the time to start stepping up.

In the mean time, I just want to plug the movie made my a very dear friend of mine, Richard Crawford. 35 years ago he made a landmark film that did actually make it into the movie theatres, for about two months. Legal issues forced him to withdraw it from the matinee until last year it was finally released fully back into his custody.

This film has become an underground sensation and expertly depicts a period that most people in America still want to deny.

the movie is called Captain Milkshake, and it's the story of a marine that comes back from Vietnam and falls in love with a girl part of the protest movement. The ending will take you totally by surprise.

Normally you could order this cult classic from it's website www.captainmilkshake.com for $19.95, however for a very limited time you can order from Amazon.com for $15.95 http://www.amazon.com/Captain-Milkshake-Richard-Crawford/dp/B000ZK91X2/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1197851435&sr=8-1

This offer will expire at the end of the year.

that's all for now folks, so until next week.

Making the Most of Things

November 27th, 2007

This is a few days late, but I'm not going to get hung up about that. It was Thanksgiving weekend for crying out loud. So here's what's been happening.

First off, I completed the NaNoWriMo Novel writing challenge over the weekend. I wrote Over 50,000 words. Now I only need about 20,000 more to finish my novel. But more on that as it develops.

Second, Is I found out yesterday that my trademarks are in their final stages. The will be published on Dec 4th and everyone has 30 days to challenge. If there are no challenges, the trademark officially becomes mine on Jan 4th. Officially.

Finally, there is no finally. Go out have fun and stay well. Until next week. :)

Just Keep Writing, Just Keep Writing...

November 19th, 2007

Just another quick note as I begin to get back in the habit of posting every week. Yes, I know I've said that before as well. ;)

I am still writing my novel, and so is Xym. We're deep into it and we have even started looking at another writing contest in the future, but more on that later.

With 11 days to go, I have over 34,000 words currently written in 6 of 14 chapters. Chapters 1 and 2 were a little longer than I had originally planned. My biggest fear right now is not that I won't have the novel finished even though I will have the word count easily. I am actually working on a higher word count than the contest as my goal.

My biggest concern is I can spend 2 days writing 1 chapter, so that means 5 to 6 chapters by the end of the month. I will still have 2 chapters after that to write as well as an epilogue. Right now based on current writing habits that would require an additional week to complete. Over this next week I will see what I can do to shorten that as much as possible.

So stay tuned fans. I'll be keeping you posted.

NaNo NaNo

November 12th, 2007

It's been a a while again since my last entry. So many things are going on in my life, sometimes I am not sure what to work on next. Rest assured that within the next three months we will be getting back on track with the Primary Force Stories.

In the mean time, November is National Novel Writing Month, and Xym and I are partaking. Check out the action going over at http://www.nanowrimo.org . Currently over 360 million words have been written by all of the participants.

This was the secret project I mentioned a few months back that I would be working on. For the past three months while taking care of as many of the things I could concerning Primary Force, I have been creating back story for this novel. Currently I am at over 20,000 words with 18 days left to reach the goal of 50,000. Once completed, there will be a new site going up about that project.

So stay tuned. We have a lot of great things in the works and I hope to let everyone know what they all are soon.

Back In the Saddle

October 15th, 2007

As I have begun to move back into the swing of things over the past week, I take a moment to look back at where we have come from. Over 2 1/2 years ago this all started as a fanciful hobby, with blind ambitions of one day becoming popular. Now, since the new site took off in March of this year, a number of wondrous things have taken place.

We have contacts and mentors in the movie industry.

We have registered trademarks weeks away from approval.

We have a first draft of a screenplay completed.

We have a growing following of fans (our visitor count continues to double on a monthly basis. So far this month we have already achieved the number of visitors we had total for last month.)

Speaking of our growing following, I once again thank everyone for stopping by, reading our stories, and helping to participate in making this a better site for everyone.

There will be a couple of changes in the next week. One will be the moving of the blog to another site. We've gotten a little too popular as despite best efforts the comments continue to be overrun with spam, and I do not have the time to go in a fix the program code to keep this from happening.

So, until next week, and hopefully at our new home or blog software. :)

There's No Business Like Show Business....

October 8th, 2007

Welcome from the land of stars, once again.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending the celebration party for a good friend of mine, David Edward Stanley, and the launch of his new movie, Protecting The King. For those who haven't heard of this movie, which will be out on DVD within the next 2 weeks in the US (it's already out in the rest of the world,) it is the his story about being Elvis's step-brother. Needless to say, it will be a party I will not be forgetting anytime soon, despite the number of drinks I had. :)

A lot has been going on, and we rapidly moving forward now with all of out plans. The biggest win we have had for the week is that our trademark has been accepted and we should have the official paperworks back by the end of the year for Primary Force.

Over the next month I will be in talks with several potential illustrators for the site over the next month. Shortly after a decision has been made, expect many many changes to the site. Also in November you will be hearing more about the "secret" project I have been developing.

So stay tuned every week, because we are getting back into full production now.

Viva Las Vegas!

September 25th, 2007

Hello to all my fans in the world.

A special thank you to the person who hacked the website over this past weekend. I didn't realize how important I was until you did that. So thank you for showing me that you care. :)

Moving on, I have been in and out of Las Vegas for the better part of this past month. I have been very busy, made a lot of new friends, and there are even more to come. We're going to change the world together, and we're bring everyone along who wants to help.

Speaking of helping, you may now have noticed that we want you, our intrepid readers, to lend your voice to the site by initially going through and giving us your honest feedback for all our stories. We want to know which ones you think are the best. This will become our driving passion for future stories as well.

Later this week I will be traveling to San Diego and then over next weekend to, you guessed in, Los Angeles to be with my producer friends. It's time to get that work done.

One final note, the paperwork to officially form Masked Men Productions was turned in yesterday. Once the production company is officially legal, we will be transferring all IP rights for Primary Force over to them. At which point, all of the "official" MMP projects will be revealed.

So until next week (and I mean it),

Delays, But Back On Track

August 27th, 2007

I apologize to everyone that it has been so long since I made an update. I have not been keeping to my schedule very well as of late. Part of this has been from being very sick, and the rest from lack of internet and trying to play catchup on many things. But I'm still here, and still trying to get everything moving and back on track again.

First off, there is something very important that needs to be discussed. In the past couple of weeks it has been brought to my attention of a couple of potential legal problems. Both center around the same problem; the images used from The Sims 2.

There are two problems we are facing. The first is that Electronic Arts (EA Games) and/or Maxis may actually own a joint copyright on all the images created via their software, the above mentioned The Sims 2. Had I intended this to remain a fan site this wouldn't be a problem. The second problem is the license agreement for The Sims 2 does not allow the use of anything created from The Sims 2 to be used for commercial purposes.

Outside of my obvious intent to make a movie based on the characters and stories I have created, which I still intend to do, there was the more immediate need to be able to produce some merchandise for the site, mainly in the form of hats, T-shirts, etc. Doing so with any images produced by the game would clearly put me in violation of the software license agreement.

So now I am appealing to my fans. This is a huge opportunity to anyone willing to step up to the plate. We need an artist. Plain and simple. Anyone that has ever wanted to illustrate a comic book I need to talk to to work out an arrangement with. If you are such an artist, or you know someone who might be, then please contact me via the Contact Page http://www.primaryforce.org/contact/ so that we can began discussion and quickly move past this barrier.

I am holding off publishing any more stories until this problem can be solved. So again, if you are interested, or you know someone who might be, send them to the site.

Many more things will soon be appearing and changing on the site. Some of these things will also involve contests with prizes as well. So stay tuned, there is going to be a lot happening over the next 10 weeks.

Back On The East Coast

August 6th, 2007

Many exciting things happened in the past week. Getting to spend time living with a Hollywood producer, I got to spend time seeing the daily activities that go on and all the work involved.

Chapter 22 is now officially in the editing stage. So later this week it will be posted. Keep an eye out for that.

Chapter 23 starts pre-production this week as well. It's time to get back on track with the stories.

Script development continues as we have a good portion of the plot developed at this point. I will be working on getting a teaser trailer done over the next two months so that everyone can get a feel for what the movie will be about.

Also keep an eye out for the first in our merchandise line later this month as well. As well as a few more selections in the download area, and a complete overhaul of the Outtakes section too.

So keep on reading as there are many exciting things coming your way.

...Still Going. Nothing Outlasts The...

July 31st, 2007

In case you thought I disappeared for for 2 weeks, well, I sort of did. At least I disappeared to a good place; Hollywood. And guess what? I'm not back yet.

This past week was mainly spent with our lawyers. We've identified two key areas that need to be addressed. Fortunately for the most part they are not major and are not going to hold us up in the overall grand scheme of things.

This week I am staying with a couple of producers, in their home. They practically have me jetting all over the place at this point, and I haven't even been here for 24 hours. Where's Jack Bauer when I need him.

So where do we stand on everything else? Well, Chapter 22 is currently 75% written. I should have the rest finished soon. Depending on how fast the editors get it back to me will determine mostly how soon until it is published.

As for everything else, all I can say for certain is that things are moving. I will be setting up my time line for the next 4 months, and we will see where things go from there.

So until then,

Namaste,

Hestas Coyote
